Custom Foot Orthotics in Winnipeg
Foot mechanics affect everything above them. We assess, fit, and dispense custom orthotics on-site at our Kenaston Blvd clinic.
- Kenaston Blvd clinic
- On-site digital X-rays
- Treatment plans with progress checks
What’s the difference between custom orthotics and the pair from the drugstore?
Drugstore arch supports are off-the-shelf, one-size-fits-most cushions. They might feel good for a week. Custom orthotics are made from a cast or scan of your feet, designed around your specific arches, your gait pattern, and the activities you do. The goal is to correct the underlying mechanics instead of just padding them.
How we make yours
- Gait and posture assessment - we watch how you walk, stand, and load each foot, then measure leg length and pelvic alignment.
- Foot impression - taken at the clinic.
- Lab fabrication - your impression and gait notes are sent to the lab, where the orthotics are built to your prescription.
- Fitting and refit - when they arrive, usually in 2 to 3 weeks, we fit them and check your gait again. Adjustments are included.
When orthotics help - and when they don’t
Orthotics help when foot or gait mechanics are part of your pain. They are not a fix for everything. As part of your initial visit, we will tell you honestly whether they are likely to make a difference for you. If they are not, we will not sell you a pair.

Are custom orthotics covered by insurance?
Many Manitoba private insurance plans cover all or part of custom foot orthotics, typically with a prescription from a chiropractor, physician, or podiatrist. Daye Chiropractic provides the prescription, casting, and receipts. Verify your coverage with your provider before booking.
Start with a gait assessment
If you are not sure whether orthotics will help, start with the assessment. We will tell you honestly whether the foot mechanics are part of the problem.
